Hello and welcome to another movie review/synopsis. The movie I will be going over today is "The Darkest Hour".
It starts out two business partners go to (Sean - Emile Hirsch and Ben - Max Minghella) Moscow, Russia to try and sell their new app for cell phones. They get to the business meeting and some other guy has stolen their ideal and made a couple of changes to it. Sean and Ben are really upset and go to a bar where they run into a couple of girls (Natalie - Olivia Thirlby and Anne - Rachael Taylor) from America. They are just flirting around with one another and decide to take a picture together. When they snap the camera the electricity goes out across the whole town. They are all leaving the club together and when they get outside they see this orange orbs floating down from the sky. They all are just wondering what they are and stick around to see what they are. Well the orbs start to touch the ground and go invisible. A police officer goes to where they just saw the orb and sticks his night stick towards where they last saw it. The police man gets grabbed up by the orb and it rips him to dust. People of course start to run, but there are so many of these orbs people are dying everywhere. Well Sean, Max, Natalie, and Anne get inside of a refrigerator inside the club they ran back into. They also had one other guy in the refrigerator with them to, which just happened to be the guy that stole Sean and Ben's app ideal. To get start to the point: The group picks up a couple people on the way and loses some too. They kind of figure out to disable the aliens' force fields and then are able to kill them. At the end of the movie, what little bit of survivors there are they are making ways to attack the aliens.
Now on to what I thought of the movie. I thought it was an okay movie. It wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible either. I think there could have been more killing of the aliens at the end, but oh well I guess. You also don't know who wins in the end either. I also thought the people made some really bad decisions, but maybe there would have been people like that. For instance, when the orbs started falling from the sky, I would have gotten the heck away from them. I mean for one they were orange, so I probably would have thought fire! I probably still would have died in the end though, I would have never figured out how to kill the things and I am surprised the people in the movie did. It seemed to be unlikely they would know how to make the machine to disarm the aliens.
All in all I would rate it a "Rent" on the "Theater, Buy, Rent, or Pass" scale. I think if you watch it once, that's all you will want to see it. I would love to know how you rate it, let me know in the comments. Also if you have a movie I should watch let me know too. Thanks for reading.

Titanic 3D
My sister and I went to see "Titanic" in 3D this past weekend and it was so lovely getting to see it on the big screen. When the movie first was shown in theaters we were way too young to go and understand what we where seeing. It was one of those things that you just can't pass on.
The movie itself was wonderful as always. I did read somewhere that James Cameron changed a part in the movie for this 3D release. It is suppose to be the part when Rose is floating on the door and singing to herself; when the camera is on the sky he made the night clearer. He had said that when he made the film the cloud cover was not true to the night. That is what I heard anyways.
The 3D part of the film was really good as well. For a movie never meant to be 3D, it was great! There wasn't a bunch of stuff flying out at you or anything, it just made everything seem like you are there. The film felt like it had layers and it made you more part of the film.
It was a great experience over all. If you went to see I would love to know what you thought. Thanks!

Like Crazy
I just finished the movie "Like Crazy" and I thought it was a pretty good movie.
If you haven't seen it, don't read anymore, because I will most likely ruin it for you.
It starts off with a girl at school (Anna) and she leaves a note on a guy's car (Jacob). Jacob calls Anna and they go on a date, then it shows the two of them starting their relationship. Anna is really from the U.K.and is only on a student visa. She decides to over stay her visa and when she goes back to the U.K. and then tries to come back to the U.S., they won't allow her out of the airport. She then gets sent back to the U.K. The movie goes on to show the two of them trying to stay together. Jacob goes to see her a couple of times, then they get married, so maybe she can go back to the U.S. It doesn't happen. They both find other people, but then finally her visa goes through. So she breaks up with the guy she is with and so does Jacob. Anna gets to go back to L.A. and she gets to see Jacob's loft and business. You can tell by the look on her face she is not that impressed. She looks for jobs online, but can't find anything she really likes, so decides to take a shower. Jacob says he will join her. They are both in the shower and they have flash backs of what their relationship use to be like. Anna then opens her eyes and gets out of the shower, Jacob is left there wiping a tear from his eye. That is the end of the movie.
Personally, I enjoyed the movie. I really can't stand the character Jacob too much. If he really wanted the relationship to work out he should have tried harder. They don't tell you if they stay together or not at the end, but I think it is nice because then you get to decide what you think happened.
I hope you enjoyed my recap. Talk to you later.

First blog.
Hello. I am Amber. I am going to start trying to blog I guess. I just linked my google+ account to blogger, so it is really new to me. I have a lot of thoughts on things, but I really don't say too much. So more or less I ramble. I probably will only do one post on here and get bored with it, as I usually do. I actually have another blog on here, but it is from 3 years ago and I didn't do anything on it either.
I guess I will tell you a little about me too. I have great friends and family. I have a wonderful dog that unfortunately doesn't live with me. His name is Rufus and he has to stay at my parents. I have had him since I was a freshmen in high school. I am 23. I live with my little sister, Chris, and we also work together at a data processing place. I like to read, watch/review movies, listen to music, play basketball, and ride my bicycle.
If you have anything you want to know, ask. I will talk to you later.
